The Viper TA is not really similar to the leather clad GTS. The TA is almost not road worthy. Sure it absolutely wrecks on the track, but it’s so race tuned that anything less than ultra smooth tarmac will unsettle the car and take away from driving on public roads.
There’s a reason not many Vipers get off the lots and the Corvette is selling like hotcakes. The Corvette is more car for less money, a lot less, even though the Viper looks way better. At the Viper price of 85-105 grand range you are starting to compete with Porsche, Aston Martin, Audi R8, BMW M’s…they have more luxury, similar performance, and just more all around appeal than the Viper. That’s why I say it’s behind the times. They either need to go all out like the Ford GT, or budget spec the car so it can properly compete with the Vette on price. Right now it’s in an awkward position of competing with a very equitable Corvette that is much cheaper, despite being in the price range of European exotics and not having the interior/comfort accolades to stand up to them.
