Back in the 80’s when I was a Boeing Vendor they had an old fusalage sitting outside the plant in Everett. It was, I think, the 757 and the fusalage was all crushed and collapsed because when they did the wing stress test, they couldn’t break the wings and all the upward pressure on the wings resulted in the hold downs over the body smashing the hell out of it.
At least, that was what they told me.
